By riffing outrageously off Roland Barthes’s notorious essay in provocation, “The Death of the Author,” > kill author seems to have doomed itself from the get-go. Now that it is dead, I am sad to see it gone, sad to see another journal go down, and sad to see a good journal go down, but you can hardly blame the editor for not wanting to keep at it.
